The Ring, the letter and a 10 shilling note

A window sited installation that explores the nostalgic, through exploding the christmas cracker and re sorting its parts. The collection of 1950's cracker jokes, gifts and images are encapuslated in their own tiny time bubbles. This installation is available for seasonal exhibiting and works particularly well in disused shop windows.
The title of the piece retells a story from the Tom Smith Cracker Company. In 1927 a gentleman wrote to the Company enclosing a diamond engagemant ring and a 10 shilling note as payment for the ring to be put in a special cracker for his fiancee. Unfortunately he did not enclose an address and never contacted the Company again; the ring letter and 10 shilling note are still in the safe today.
